Project Overview
Moore Construction delivered advanced screw piling works for the Latimer Church Development, providing a robust deep foundation solution to support the structure under challenging ground conditions.
The project incorporated 89 screw piles installed to depths of up to 20 metres, along with a specialised methodology for 19 of these piles needing to be concrete-encased cantilevered.
Engineering Methodology
- Temporary casing installation and excavation
- Precision screw pile installation to design depth
- Tremie concrete placement for controlled infill
- Reinforcing cage installation and final concrete placement
Construction Delivery
Screw piles were installed using specialised piling rigs, with real-time torque monitoring providing continuous feedback during installation to ensure compliance with design requirements.
Pile installation required on-site welding of extensions to achieve full depth, followed by trimming, capping, and preparation for integration with downstream structural works.
Risk Management & Sequencing
Project planning emphasised the importance of completing piling works ahead of main construction activities to reduce programme risk, site congestion, and safety hazards.
Plant & Equipment
- Geax EK110 drilling rig
- Heavy excavator support fleet
- Concrete delivery and placement systems
